Unbelievable: 92-year-old Woman Fights Catholic Archdiocese Over Land/Church Building She Donated To Them!

 A 92 years old woman Madam Juliana Onuora from Nkpor, in Idemili North Council Area of Anambra State is currently at war with the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha over a church, Our Lady Catholic Church, she built and donated to the Diocese in 1985.

Madam Juliana is arguing that she built the church in 1985 to fulfill her promise to God that she would build a befitting Basilica to God if she comes back to Nigeria alive from West Germany where she went for medical
treatment.
And that when she built it, she did it so that it would serve as a chapel where her staff and management would be worshiping instead of trekking several miles to worship outside her business empire.

But  the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha is arguing that no one owns a church and even when an individual builds one and donates to the Church, and it is consecrated by the bishop, it ceases to belong to the person but to the Diocese.


The ugly incidents that followed the lingering land tussle between the church and the family of Onuora has degenerated into a serious war, which led to the burning down of the parish priest’s building by irate youths suspected to be working on the orders of the 92-year-old woman's daughter.

As a result, the entire compound including the church and other surrounding buildings have been cordoned off by policemen from the Police Zonal Headquarters, Zone 9 Umuahia to forestall further breakdown of law.

Madam Onuorah has written to Pope Francis that her life is in danger and she needs his quick intervention. She further appealed to the Inspector General of police to ensure his men are not used to cause high blood pressure and heart attack for her as her wealth used for charity and philanthropy should not be the cause of her death.
Talking to a SunNews correspondent, Madam Onuorah lamented:

“I built this place because I am in good terms with the priests and bishops. How can I instigate my workers to set my property ablaze and it is even a taboo to burn a church. I don’t know why the church is fighting me over my property. I built the church in fulfillment of my promise to God. I never knew that my magnanimity would turn against me. They arrested some of my workers, closed my bakery and the Catholic Church has been chasing my only daughter around, pulled down my perimeter fencing and threatened to also burn me alive here. Let God reward all of us accordingly.

I learnt that my Archbishop came here yesterday but he never visited me and the priests are right here under my nose but they have never come here. My son, I am gradually dying in sorrow. And for this, let me state clearly that the church is for worship of God.  They should come and worship God and go but leave my property alone. I am not interested in the proceeds they get. I even give the little I have to support the work of God but what I cannot tolerate is fighting me over my own ‘sweat’  and that is why I am calling on the world, the government, activists to hear my cry. I don’t have anything to fight the church and I don’t want anything to happen to my only daughter.

Femi Kuti Loses Again At The Grammy Awards

Femi Kuti has once again lost to another nominee, this time two nominees in the World Music category he was nominated for at the on-going Grammy Awards to night. His album, No Place For My Dream was nominated, making it Femi’s 4^th Grammy nomination, but lost to French group Gipsy Kings and SA male choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo in a tie.

So sorry Femi, God knows best.

Student Of Regent University Buys Cannabis With Tuition Fee

A Nigerian undergraduate student who used his tuition fee to buy hard drug has been arrested for drug trafficking, Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said in a statement on Saturday.
NDLEA said the suspect, Udiomeh Kufre Ita, a student of the faculty of Management Sciences at the Regent University in Ghana, was arrested at the weekend at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, western Nigeria.
He was caught with 1.745 kilogrammes of dried weeds that tested positive for cannabis popularly called hemp.
The suspect was found in possession of the drug during the inward screening of passengers on an Africa World Airlines flight from Accra, Ghana, said NDLEA Lagos Airport Commander, Hamza Umar.
“An undergraduate student was found in possession of two parcels of cannabis weighing 1.745kg during routine search of passengers. The drug was hidden inside his bag containing personal effects. He was immediately arrested and the case is under investigation,” Hamza was quoted as saying.

“The suspect who reportedly gained admission into the faculty of Management Sciences at the Regent University is currently assisting narcotic investigators assigned to the case,” NDLEA said in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju.
In his confessional statement, Ita was quoted as saying that he used his tuition fees in purchasing the drug found on him.
“I spent my school fees on cell phone, smoking hemp and attending night clubs. I bought a cell phone for N107,000 and spent my school fees recklessly. I thought I could make enough profit from the sale of cannabis to offset the deficit in my tuition. I bought each parcel of hemp for 220 Ghana cedi. I did not know what came over me and I am afraid to go to my parents. My father is a retiree,” the suspect was quoted as saying.
P.M.NEWS did not have access to the suspect.
NDLEA said Ita hails from Akwa-Ibom State but grew up in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade, has described the action of the student as shameful and sad.
“This is very shameful and sad. It shows that the suspect is morally bankrupt. Students must understand that drug use is inimical to the pursuit of their academic goals,” Giade was quoted as saying.
The NDLEA boss called on members of the public to avoid drug use and support the fight against drugs.
“Abstinence from drug use is the best solution but those who have problem with drug use should please seek professional help before it is too late. Let us support the anti-drug campaign for a peaceful and fulfilled life,” Giade was quoted as saying.
NDLEA said the suspect will be placed on counselling and may likely be charged to court for unlawful importation of cannabis.

In an interview with Saturday Punch, popular On-Air-Personality and event host, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Freeze CoolFM talked about his $200k (N32million) watch collection, his dislike for Michael Kors and said some Nigerian celebs wear fake designer items. Excerpts below...

When you say a collection, how many are you talking about?

Not like how many, like how much. I have maybe $200,000 in wristwatches. What I am wearing now is a Rolex Daytona, I got it from Polo for Christmas. It cost about $30,000. Polo is Nigeria’s only authorised dealer, so I bought it from the company and I love it. I love pens too. Sometimes I could just be like a woman. I love things that shine but not all the time. I like cufflinks, pens but I am not the necklace or a bracelet kind of guy. Though I wear bracelets once in a while; so I like my cufflinks, pens and wristwatches, any attire that would show them off, I am good with it. Continue...

What wouldn’t you be caught wearing?

Michael Kors. I am sorry but I just think that brand is so razz. First their name, I think their name is so razz. Not exactly the name, it is the brand, all you have for the logo is MK. Their products are loud, ugly and cheap. I see someone wearing a Michael Kors watch and I see it as they are trying so hard to wear Rols gold. I can’t afford that so the next thing is to pick up Michael Kors. I would rather take equally priced designer but with a bit more class and less noise. I would never be caught wearing that. Designers I like are Tom Ford, Gucci, I love LV shoes that are not monogrammed. I like Hermes; I think that is a really brilliant designer. I like the fact that they play with orange a lot.

What is your take on celebrities posting photos of their expensive fashion items on their social media accounts?

First thing first, for all the entertainers putting up pictures of their accessories on Instagram, can they please tweet the receipt from an authorised dealer. Trust me, I have seen too many celebs wear fake stuffs. You can tell that they don’t know what they are wearing. Of course, there are a few brand names like D’banj, Don Jazzy, P-Square or Wizkid that would not wear fake. I have seen them wear good watches. But there are some other people who I have seen wear funny looking pieces. There was one particular musician that I saw wearing a Rolex and the gold was fading. Rolex never uses gold plates, they use pure gold. If you see anything gold on a Rolex, it is pure gold. When I saw that, I was disappointed at the musician, especially because of the level of respect I had for the musician. There is no such thing like buying a Rolex with a credit card. You can’t buy a Rolex with a credit card; who are you? Diddy? For you to be able to walk away with a £20,000 watch, you would have a substantial amount of money in that card.

10 PH Gospel Artistes You Should Look Out For In 2014

Okay! The city of Port-Harcourt popularly referred to as the Garden city of Nigeria is no doubt a bubbling hub when it comes to good gospel music. Blessed with great gifts and talents, promoting the kingdom of God, the city  has hosted a lot musical events,both local & international artistes.

Today, we present to you ten vibrant PH Gospel artistes you should put your eyes on this new year. We've had several chats with them and we totally believe that sooner or later you will begin to hear from them.

There are others who will stroll the year with what they are up to as we progress but we need you watch out for these guys. They are arranged in no particular order.

 1. AFRIKAN J

 She is dubbed "the joy of Africa", a beautiful & amazing vocal sister. African J has so many albums and musical videos to her credit already. She is a worshiper, Mother, Wife, Journalist and very devoted child of God. Her singles "Seki Oboma" & " All about you" released few weeks ago are already enjoying massive attention from fans all over. She is set for some big projects this year. Keep your eyes on her.

2. SAMUEL DIXON

 

Samuel Dixon is a Port Harcourt based gospel singer that has awed music lovers with his efforts. He is one of the most visible gospel artistes currently making the gospel alive in the south south. Sammy as he is popularly called debuted 2 powerful singles "God No Dey Camouflage" & "Amanam" last year. These singles featured on topnotch music blogs all over the nation and was also premiered on Praiseworld radio. News has it that the multi-talented young minister will likely drop his album this year. The album which is titled "Graceful" is definitely going to be a big one. Samuel Dixon will also kick off his campus tour this year. You've got to fix your eyes on this brother.

3. NAJITE EL-DAVID

  The delectable, elegant, beautiful & gifted female vocalist, Najite El-David made headlines with her appearance at the Nigerian Idols in 2012 and was recorded as one of the best finalists.

Then she went her ahead to officially launch her gospel music career by dropping two powerful singles that premiered on prestigious online media platforms nationwide recording over a 1500+ downloads in the first week of release last year. Since then, this anointed songbird has been on fire for the Lord. Najite says "She  ended 2013 better than she started & that she Thank God for his grace".

She has attended so many functions (musical concerts, festivals, corporate events) within & outside her base blessing lives with her very stunning, energetic & wonderful crew. You will be amazed by the projects she is set to embark on this new year. Watch out for her.


4. BEE K

Bee K (Kenneth Edeke) is a gifted & impressive vocalist who is not just a singer but a deep worshiper and lover of God. The fine gentleman dropped his single 'Heart of a Believer" last year before he hosted the entire Port-Harcourt city to a live musical concert tagged "Bee-K Live". The event which has remained a talk of the town was regarded as one of the best gospel events for 2013 in the city. As a way of ending the year, he released his Christmas single "Holy Night Cover" which had over 500 downloads within few hours of release. The young talented dude is already on the move as he officially opened the year last week with his latest single "Happy Generation". More is set to come from Bee-K, so you better be on the look..

 5. IYKE (THE COMBOPHONIST)

 

He is a very dynamic & talented minister of God with a very rare musical gift. The gospel artiste who hosted fans & friends to a birthday concert last year spent most of the last year blessing lives with his singing through out Africa. He has recorded a couple of singles after his last musical project which hopes to hit various gospel sites soon. He  is also finalizing arrangement to drop his new album this same year. He is just another man you should look our for very closely.

6. CHIBEE DANIELS

Chibueze Daniels, born 9th February some years ago & started singing at the age of 15. He is currently a very dedicated & committed psalmist  at Church of God Mission Int'l (The Rest Place), a place regarded as a hub for great kingdom gifts in the city of Port Harcourt.

He is a versatile music performer per excellence though he majors in R&B, he still remains a very round music personality. Chibee Daniels dropped a powerful hit "When Praises Go Up" and he is set to drop his first music album in March titled "The Gifted". The event we hear will be christened "Chibee Daniels Live" and of course the talk of this event has been on the social media since the beginning of the year. Look closely.

7. CHINEDU UGWUADU

This fine gentleman garnered some prominence after his appearance at the last Nigerian Idols where he made some tremendous impact as one of the best contestants. Since then, he has been waxing strong ministering live in several events in the city. Speaking with him recently, the very versatile & thrilling singer hinted us of his official singles to be released some time in April in an open but topnotch live concert like you have never seen before.

We see his moves and we implore you to keep eyes on this brother because he has so much goodies to dish out to us.

8. BIG JEFF

BIG JEFF is one of Port-Harcourt's finest gospeller whose creativity, diligence and consistency has placed him in the frontline of Gospel music in his base and environs.

His passion for true worship led him to establish the crew "Worship Adrenalin" which is also a platform for training and establishing young worshippers. Worship Adrenalin has hosted profound worship ministrels in 2 worship events so far in the city of Port-Harcourt. The minstrel who dropped 2 singles last year also had the 3rd edition of Wonders of Worship in the same year. His new album is undergoing finishing touch and will likely drop before the first half of the year.

9. DAVIDIC

 From his base, he has been able by the hand of God upon his life to reach out to many through his music ministry. His name is David Emeka Onwuka stage named Davidic. He is an International gospel recording artiste, songwriter & evangelist.

 Davidic who hails from Imo State attended Ogbe Secondary school, Warri, Delta state, He is a graduate of Theology from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.  He works with his well fed music crew known as  "De Davidic Worship Crew". He is also a committed member of the popular Winners' Chapel in the city of Port-Harcourt. Davidic will premiere some of his songs and his videos in this new year following other projects he's cooking.

10. CHARLES PATRICK (C-PATT) 

Born, brought up and currently based in the city of Port Harcourt-Nigeria, C-PATT also known as Tha' Fatsoul MC (PROV 13:4) is a Gospel & Motivational Rap Music Minister (EPH 3:7) with a divine mandate to "Uplift the souls of men & promote the Gospel of Christ through music" (II COR 4:3-5).

His music is refined, purposeful & divine. It is soul lifting, motivating, inspiring and educating with deft & Word-based lyrics, good melodies, creative approach, smooth voice delivery and quality sound productions which has become a stunner and a blessing across the country and beyond. His single "My Faith" which featured Wisdom K dropped last year is still gaining massive appeal. It was on the 3rd of july 2013 when Star Trek took place in Aba. In the contest it was ten over ten beat we used to freestyle. The final of the contest was between me and Lousy G, it was a two round contest which i won.
After i was declared winner, Naeto C asked me to go and wait for him at the VIP section which i did. After his performance on stage he came to the VIP section to meet me, the first word he said to me was what are you doing in Aba, why  wont you come over to Lagos?
I told him am a student of Abia Poly, that after my school i will relocate to Lagos, he then said that's ok. After my Pix section with him, he told me he was going to send me money for winning his rap contest at Star Trek. He then gave me DJ Neptunes number and that of his back-up artiste, but my cry here is up till this moment, almost seven months now i am still waiting for the money the famous and rich rapper promised me.
Each time i called the numbers he gave me they end up hanging the call on me, only sometimes DJ Neptunes talks to me, but he talks without me seeing the money.

please Nigerians, if you can reach Naeto C, tell him that Mr Stan, the winner of his rap contest in Aba is still waiting for the money he promised him seven months ago.

Na wa for some Naija celebrities ooo... So sorry Mr Stan, RIB promise to contact him for you. lol.
But seriously that's very bad of the ten over ten crooner whose mother was former  Aviation Minister and also current the PDP  National Women leader.
