Kidnappers Abduct President Jonathan's First Cousin
The president’s first cousin, Chief Inengite Nitabai has
been abducted. He was abducted at his residence around 8pm last night in Otuoke,
Bayelsa State. The gunmen numbering about 10, walked in quietly into his
compound and abducted him without firing a single shot. According to his in-law
who witnessed the scenario, the gunmen asked them to all lie down when five
hefty men out of them walked into the living. They also asked his wife to give
them money, and she gave them the N400,000 at home with her. They moved him
into their vehicle and also took away his SUV, before driving off, she said.
Nothing has been heard from the men, but the commissioner of
Police and Deputy Commander, JTF, have visited the crime scene. Chief Inengite
is 70.
BREAKING: President of Uganda signs Anti-Homosexuality Bill into law
It's my job to keep you updated, so here's what's up at the moment, dearies - Uganda's President Museveni has signed the country's anti-gay bill into law, despite warnings from US President Barack Obama that it would “complicate our valued relationship” and will mark a “step backward” for all Ugandans and reflect poorly on the country’s commitment to protect the human rights of its people.”
The bill states that first-time offenders will be sentenced to 14 years in jail. Then life imprisonment for repeat
offenders, as well as acts involving a minor, a disabled person or where one partner is infected with HIV.
The bill originally proposed the death penalty for some homosexual acts, but that was later removed amid international criticism.
In December last year, Uganda’s Parliament passed the bill but President Yoweri Museveni said he would only sign the bill into law if he had proof that gay people are ‘made’ and ‘not born’ into their sexuality. And last week he changed his stand, saying a team of Ugandan scientists had reported that there is no evidence that homosexuality is caused by genetics.
However, over the weekend in South Africa, former archbishop Desmond Tutu had criticised President Museveni for supporting the bill, describing it as “evil”.

“I am a member of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Ikorodu, where I reside. But I only attend Christ Embassy Church, Agidingbi, Lagos, once in a while. Even, my friend also introduced me to a Christ Apostolic Church, in Ketu, Lagos, where I also attend deliverance services. I don’t discriminate so far it’s all for my benefit.
Now, I am happy that the battle is over. As I speak to you, I am on a movie location with some of my colleagues. They are all happy that I am back. I pray that any weapon fashioned against me again shall never prosper.”

POVERTY: Two Brothers Land In Hospital After Fighting Over Bowl Of Garri
It was pandemonium on Saturday when two brothers from the same parents were admitted at the General Hospital, Ikorodu after fighting each other over a bowl of garri.
The incident happened on Abiola Street, Ibeshe titun, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
According to eye-witnesses, the two brothers, Tosin and Yakubu, who are in their late twenties, were drinking garri in the same bowl when the elder brother (Tosin), discovered that Yakubu was too fast for him and he hit the younger sibling with a hard object on the head which made the victim to start bleeding.
In an attempt to run away from being manhandled by residents of the community, Tosin hit his manhood against an iron rod.
The two brothers were both rushed to the General Hospital in Ikorodu as a result of the serious injuries they both after t.
The older brother (Tosin) was confirmed to be a bricklayer while the younger brother (Yakubu) works as a carpenter in a nearby workshop.
Investigation revealed that both brothers do not live with their parents and their relations have since condemned the act.
One of their neighbours, who did not want be named, while reacting to the incident, said that, "we took them to a nearby hospital, 'LifeGuard' but they were rejected so we had to quickly rush them to the General Hospital.
"It is a serious case because no one would have expected Tosin and Yakubu to fight over a bowl of garri. I just hope that they respond to treatment early enough so that they can continue with their lives".

26-year old Nikki Scherwitz was said to have pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year old student of the school she taught in Texas, USA.
Scherwitz was sentenced to 10 years of probation and a $5,000 fine for her unhealthy relationship with a minor.
Daily News reports:
Prosecutors reportedly agreed to the plea deal because the student was nearly 17, the age of consent in Texas. Scherwitz, 26, also agreed to send written apologies to the victim’s mom and to the Brazosport Independent School District in Houston.
“I apologize for the behavior I engaged in with a student of BISD,” Scherwitz scribbled onto a piece of paper. “I crossed an ethical boundary I never should have crossed. Again, I’m sorry.”
But some parents and students are upset that Scherwitz managed to avoid a jail sentence.
“The men get 25 to life, but a woman gets a slap on the wrist with only a $5,000 fine,” Mario Salinas, a student at Brazosport High School, told KHOU.
“If it was a guy, a male teacher with a female student, it wouldn’t be the same,” agreed Oscar Guttierrez, another student.
In fact, Texas law forbids improper relationships between teachers and students—no matter the age.
Police were alerted to Scherwitz’s inappropriate behavior after the teacher allegedly showed up drunk to an after-prom party, wearing a tattered, cut-off shirt. For several weeks before that, she had been sending explicit text messages to her victim, KTRK reports. When others at the party asked her to leave, she left the house with her victim in tow.
Scherwtiz had separated from her husband before developing a relationship with the minor. Her son is now staying his dad.
With the police hot on her trail, the woman resigned from her job as a 10th grade English teacher last year.
Scherwitz is now considered a convicted felon. She has to abide by a curfew and has been ordered to stay far away from minors.
“I think she should get more than just probation because that’s a kid,” said Robert Anderson whose grandchild is a Brazosport student, adding, “and you shouldn’t have relationships with a young minor.”
