Teenage Footballer gets a ridiculous haircut in honour of Mario Balotelli

17-year-old Lazio player Mamadou Tounkara has stuck a photo up on Instagram of his new haircut, and the image has courted plenty of attention.
Tounkara, a Senegalese centre-forward, has shaved his head into a unique style that breaks down into a single strip of hair down the middle of his head and the number 45 etched into the side.
Tounkara’s haircut is said to be a hat-tip to AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, who wears the number 45 for the Rossoneri.
That suggestion has caused anger amongst Lazio fans who are upset that one of their players would turn to AC Milan for a role model.

Osaze To Keshi: I Want To Play In Brazil

After playing a starring role in Cardiff City’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, striker Osaze Odemwingie has now revealed his World Cup ambitions.
Osaze has underlined ambition to join Cardiff City team-mates Gary Medel and Kim Bo-Kyung at the World Cup finals in Brazil next summer.
The Bluebirds striker has earned 55 caps for Nigeria, but hasn’t been involved for his country since the Africa Cup of nations last year.
But the Super Eagles clinched their spot in Brazil last week with a 4-1 aggregate play-off triumph against Ethiopia, and now Osaze admits he is dreaming of getting another chance at international level.
“I was in Nigeria’s squad for the World Cup finals in South Africa and I would love the chance to go again,” the former West Brom striker told www.walesonline.co.uk.
Osaze, though, is adamant that if he produces his best form for Cardiff in the Premier League there is a real chance he will be recalled by Nigeria and take his place in their squad next summer.
“Why not?” said Osaze after Cardiff’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United. “Certainly, I believe there is a chance. If it comes I would be delighted.
“I haven’t been selected recently because the new coach wanted changes in the team.
“First of all it affected the older players so the situation wasn’t so friendly, but he has made it clear that any player who is active and eligible had a chance for Nigeria for the World Cup finals so we will see.
“Playing for my country in Brazil would mean so much. I was in South Africa with Nigeria during 2010 and it was a great event. Brazil is maybe even more popular football-wise so it would be great to be part of that if it happens.”
Osaze knows he will have to play at his best for Cardiff to force his way back into Coach Stephen Keshi’s squad, but he has the chance to shine in televised Premier League matches and this Saturday he looks certain to start against Arsenal at home.
“Playing Premier League football can only help me,” said Osaze. “No player will be in the squad unless they do well for their club.
“Playing for Cardiff City is the most important factor for me right now. Even before you talk about the national team it’s important to be playing well for your club side and that, for me, is the priority.”
Osaze, Cardiff’s £2.2m signing from the Baggies on transfer deadline day in September, chose to play for Nigeria, where his father was born, even though he was born in Uzbekistan to a Russian mother.
He made his debut as a substitute during Nigeria’s 3-0 win against Kenya during 2002 and went on to play in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2004, 2006,2008 & 2010.
Osaze, an Olympic silver medalist with Nigeria in Beijing. though, he is keen to show he is worthy of a recall by consistently finding his best form for Cardiff. They are 15th in the table with 13 points from 12 games and following this weekend’s home clash with Arsenal by travelling to play Stoke City, in midweek, and Crystal Palace.
Osaze will certainly be looking to impress during December as Keshi works towards his final squad for Brazil. If he finally make the squad to Brazil, it will be his third attempt to a World cup finals.

Gowon Speaks:Oshiomhole Model For Good Governance

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon has described the administrative style of Governor Adams Oshiomhole as a model for the kind of good governance which Nigeria needs today.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Governor in Benin City, General Gowon said: “I thank you for all the good things you are doing for this state; I am a witness to it and I am delighted to see you. It is always a pleasure to see you.
“I am also delighted to meet your cabinet and thank them for the great support and advise they have been giving you to achieve these great things. You have a vision and you are a motivator which has made you to achieve all these. You have been able to achieve many of the things you set for yourself. The support of your team and the vision of the Governor have led to the kind of good governance which we need very badly in Nigeria today.
General Gowon said he is in Benin to chair the book launch of selected speeches of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo n’Oba Erediauwa.
In his response, Governor Oshiomhole thanked General Gowon for the visit saying he is always delighted to play host to the former Head of State.
The Governor expressed delight that general Gowon accpeted to chair the book launch on the Oba.
The Governor noted that the problem of people from this part of the world is documenting their history, and he praised the Oba for putting his thoughts and speeches together in a book form.

Only In Delta State: Uduaghan Nominates Dead Man For Board Appointment

Members of the Delta State House of Assembly were on Tuesday thrown into a state of astonishment when they discovered that one of the seven persons nominated by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for appointment into the Delta State Tourism Board had died a while ago.
Last week, Mr. Uduaghan had included the name of James Youmu in a list of nominees for the state’s tourism board that was forwarded to the legislature for screening and confirmation. Mr. Youmu has been dead
The other nominees for the same board are Efe Afe, Peter Okolotu, Hyacinth Iyere, Amah Agbajoh, Abel Eyube and Joe Morg.
There was a mild drama during the screening when Mr. Youmu, the fourth nominee on the list, was called up. Mr. Afe, a former member of the state assembly who was screened as the chairman of the board, immediately told the House that the said James Youmu had died even before the names were sent for screening.
The embarrassing situation raised eyebrows among lawmakers. The strange incident became a new chapter in the governor’s controversial actions regarding the membership of the state-owned agencies and parastatals.
Last week, a prominent member of the Delta State House of Assembly had told SaharaReporters that he was dismayed that the governor sent a list of nominees for the boards of state-owned agencies after the governor had sworn in the nominees into office three months ago. The legislator said that the governor’s belated action was “evidence that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has lost focus.”
Other legislators also told SaharaReporters that they were taken aback by the governor’s letter forwarded a letter with the names of nominees after he had inaugurated them, thereby violating the law. “Why did His Excellency send us names of nominees for state boards for screening and confirmation when the boards were inaugurated by the same governor some months ago?” one of the state lawmakers wondered.
Several of the legislators wondered why none of the governor’s aides had warned him against inaugurating boards without first forwarding the names of their members to the state assembly for vetting and approval, as demanded by law.
A letter titled “Request For Confirmation Of Nomination Of Chairmen And Members Of Certain Boards” and personally signed by Governor Uduaghan was accompanied with a list of nominees to be screened for appointment into the Delta State Tourism Board, Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri; Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba, and Delta State Rural Development Agency.
The latest development, where a dead man’s name appeared on the governor’s list, caused consternation among Deltans who went to the state assembly to witness the screening and confirmation exercise. “Who come put dead man for board?” one of the spectators mused, speaking in pidgin language.

Upon Nigerians Rejection, Central Bank Will Roll Out N5000 By 2014

The Central Bank of Nigeria  disclosed that it would soon conclude plans to produce and roll out N5000 bills, a project which was initially abandoned due to its rejection by Nigerians.
Deputy Governor of CBN, Tunde Lemo, who disclosed this while speaking to journalists at the NIBSS 20th anniversary conference held in Lagos, said in one or two months from now, the N5000 notes would be in circulation.
According to him: "We only stopped the project due to the low level of understanding of its benefits among Nigerians, but we now plan to educate the people about the importance of the notes to our economy before we eventually launch it”.
He added that Nigerians would soon see the notes in circulation and start to enjoy its benefits.

N5000, is that really what Nigeria needs. Will it stop oil theft, Boko Haram, Militancy, Power outage and the endless list.  I think every body at the Apex bank are confused, foolish and stupid.
